NEW CARERS SUPPORT GROUP IN ELLAND

Together for Wellbeing is a new monthly support group for carers and families of people with memory loss or dementia.

This group is run by Calderdale-based home care provider Home Instead and supported by the Calder & Ryburn Primary Care Network.

We meet from 10.30am to 12.30pm on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Project Colt Café in Elland and aim to provide a relaxed and welcoming space where visitors can:

  • Meet others who understand the challenges of caring for a loved one with dementia.
  • Access advice, guidance, and emotional support from healthcare and dementia professionals.
  • Enjoy a friendly chat andrefreshments in a supportive environment.
  • Learn more about dementia and the support options available.

Although this is primarily a Carer’s Group, carers/families are welcome to bring the person they care for along with them.

Our second meeting is on Wednesday 28 January.  The Project Colt Cafe can be found inside Bridgefield Mills on Elland Bridge, HX5 0SQ.

Parking is available alongside and behind the mill or if its busy opposite along an unmetalled track off Elland Bridge. Alternatively there is parking a short walk away on the roadside on Briggate around the bend from Elland Bridge towards Elland centre.
